All nodes in a mobile adhoc network are usually powered by limited battery energy. The consideration ofmulticast lifetime in mobile ad hoc network prevents the problem of rapiddepletion of node energy, thus possibly leading to the interruption of themulticast service and reconstruction of the multicast tree. We study themulticast routing in mobile ad hoc networks to extend multicast lifetime andminimize transmission cost. A heuristic genetic algorithm
