基础篇介绍在SAS中如何通过菜单操作来完或统计分析任务其内容包括：数据的输入输出和整理、描述性统计、假设检验、图形的制作、回归分析、多元统计分析、方差分析、协方差分析和时间序列分析等。提高篇中除了介绍用编程的方法实现基础篇中介绍的各种统计分析方法外还特别增加了“SAS／IMI模块与矩阵运算语言”一章此章介绍SAS提供的交互式矩阵语言。IML的语法和编程方法。通过IML编程可完成极为复杂而特殊的统计分析特别适合于研究人员和采用特殊分析方法的人员使用。
